Oreo and I often get asked a lot of questions when we’re streaming on social media and I figured I’d post them here. This list will be updated so check back from time to time.

Q: When did you lose your sight?
A: I was diagnosed with cancer at a month old. My right eye was removed at age 1 and my left eye was removed at age 2.

Q: How are you reading our comments if you’re blind?
A: I’m using a piece of software called a screen reader. Screen readers can be found on windows, mac, iPhones, and android. It uses a text-to-speech to read aloud the comments and things on screen.

Q: Why is Oreo’s head tilted back?
A: Oreo has a neurological syndrome which effects one-third of parrots in captivity. He’s actually in good health and is taking medication to help with the head tilt.

Q: What do you dream?
A: I don’t see in my dreams. I know what’s going on but there isn’t any vision or pictures.

Q: How old are you and Oreo?
A: I was born in 1990, Oreo was born in 2003.

Q: How long have you had Oreo?
A: Since 2003.

Q: Favorite color?
A: Blue

Q: Favorite food?
A: Fried rice, egg rolls and Pad Thai.

Q: Favorite drinks?
A: Coffee, shakes, and citrus tea.

Q: Dating?
A: I’m single.

Q: Do you have more pets?
A: Oreo is my only pet.

Q: Do you want more pets?
A: I would love to find a parrot friend for Oreo. I’ll foster pets for a short time if need be, but Oreo is my primary concern.
